An English horn is longer and has a lower, mellower sound. It has a bulbous bell, instead of a conical bell. Also, the English horn is in F instead of C. The English horn has a double reed like the Oboe, but it does not go directly into the instrument. It has a small metal pipe that connects the instrument to the reed; called a bocal (like the bassoon). Also, the reed itself is shorter and wider. Unlike the oboe reed, there is no cork, just a brass tube called a staple. The fingerings are the same, but the keys are spaced apart more, so some people might not be able to reach them.
Well the look is almost the same but the noise is different and so is the fingering the sheet music is nothing like the clarinets and it is harder to master the qualities to the oboe than the Clarinet
An English horn reed is similar in appearance to an oboe reed, but there are also marked differences. The English horn (EH) reed is shorter and wider by a few millimeters. The oboe reed has a brass staple partially covered by cork. This is to fit it into the top of the oboe securely. The EH has a small metal pipe called a bocal ( like on a bassoon, only shorter). This bocal fits into the instrument and the EH reed goes on the other end. Because of this arrangement, the EH reed has no cork just a brass staple with a lip on the bottom. The thread that secured the reed to the staple extends to the top of the lip.
The previous answer of "an incomplete oboe reed" is wrong and as an oboist/ hornist of 14 years makes my skin crawl. Shame on you previous answerer!
the oboe and the English Horn(cor anglais) both have a double reed
Im a violinist, but I believe they have some of the same fingerings, and they both have a low sound.
They are both double reed instruments, have similar sound, and look very similar.
The biggest difference is the key they are in, and cor anglais is lower than the oboe.
They both have double reeds
they boht look odd with a 2 red

It's a double reed instrument.
The Oboe has a double reed, which are two reeds basically put together and held by twine. These reeds are very hard to play and take a while to learn.
the oboe and the bassoon use double reeds. So do the English horn (a larger kind of oboe) and the contra-bassoon (a larger bassoon.)
One is higher than the other... Yes they call me Einstein.

Horses do not have horns.
The dodge big horn is a special edition ram. No true difference.
The Color
nothing at all.

No, an alto horn is not a woodwind instrument, it is a brass instrument. Woodwind instruments use reeds, except for flutes and recorders.

A horn is the gray matter of the spinal cord, and a column consist of white matter.
