Basically the big thing that sets them apart is that an intranet is a localized network of computers whereas the internet is a diverse connected mass of computers. A company will have an intranet that is local to them.

We should have four things for hardware. 1- Computer 2-Modem 3- Telephone 4- NIC (Network Interface Card) And in software 1- Operating System 2- ISP ( Internet Service Provider) 3-Browser Internet is when your computer can access the World Wide Web (www.) through a modem or gateway. it can also be connected to a network at your home or office, but you can still access the internet. Intranet is a type of closed loop network that only certain computers are part of. There will not be access to the www. because there is no gateway or modem attached to the network or computer. Internet is also a way to connect office computers together to share information. An example of the use of a internet will be the Department of Defence or some police agencies.
