Best Answer

since every one has there own unique DNA, the police can then get samples of it and match that DNA with a record of all other Dana's and see if it matches with one . So they are technically match making.

Firstly, restriction enzymes are used to break the DNA down into smaller fragments. These fragments are then subject to electrophoresis, where they are placed on a gel. Voltage is applied to the gel and positively charged portions of the DNA will move towards the negative electrode and vice versa. These DNA portions separate by size, where smaller fragments travel greater distances. The DNA sequences are then stained and observed under UV light to that a film of the DNA fingerprint can be developed.

DNA profiling is carried out by collecting a sample and extracting its DNA. This is followed by amplifying telltale regions, followed by counting the repeats. Finally, matching is done.

DNA profiling works in many ways, a main way being extraction and gel electrophoresis. These results are then compared with each other to see if there are matches.
