where is the thermostat on a 1996 Toyota Camry
Could be your timing belt.
'96 Camry (both 4 & 6 cyl) have a timing belt, which should be checked and replace per the vehicle maintenance manual.
how do i remove the valve cover to change the gasket in a toyota camry 1996
Can a put an engine out of a 1996 toyota camry into a 1997 toyota camry?
You will have to remove the timing belt and the engine pan. Only after that you will get access to the oil pump.
Will a 2.2 engine out of a 1996 Toyota Camry fit in a 1997 Toyota Camry? Yes it will fit you just have to change from distributor to coil packs it will fit because i have a 96 Toyota camry with a 2.2L engine from a 99 model.
I just replaced the timing chain for my 2000 Camry. I did the same thing for my last Camry, a 1996. The timing chain goes after the water pump bearings fail and jams everything up. Then I had to replace the timing belt, water pump, and all belts.
could be timing It can be many things. I would suspect you have a vacuum leak.
