∙ 12y agoSymptoms of a computer virus quite range from different areas. Some of the common ones are pops ups! If you see an unusual amount of pop ups happening its usually a virus or male ware. Also don't be fooled as many people are, the sudden antivirus protection that pops up on computers that you didnt even install before. THOSE ARE FAKE. Common true anti virus are Norton, AVG, McAfee, Nos-protection. Be vigilant. Computers slowing down, internet browser redirecting, also installations or executions of programs being blocked are all symptions. The best solution is to do a virus scan periodicity.

The best way to keep your computer virus free is by checking every program with your anti-virus before running it.
You could also run two types of anti virus, or add an anti-spyware program.

- A lot of times they scare people enough to stop downloading illegal files such as torrents and ripped movies
Disadvantages:
- They can severely damage your computer
- They can delete important files
- They can be used to gain control (by a hacker)
