The number of atoms in a molecule with a given chemical formula is always the sum of all the explicitly written subscripts in the formula plus an implied subscript of one for each atomic symbol without an explicit subscript. Applying this rule gives a value of 2 + 4 +1 or 7 for the total number of atoms. (Note that all of the letters in the formula given in the question should be capitals.)
