Well, id say a fair amount of work im no dog expert but im guessing because of its size 2 cups of food every meal. And a good amount of exersise they are lap dogs so you might have them in your lap. Freindly with all ages but all dogs have their own personality.
Depends on your preference for size, energy level and vet. costs. I adore my dane they are extremely gentle, not overly active Sweet dogs. To answer your question what is it like to own a dane, well expensive being so large your vet. bills can get pretty big sometimes. It cost more for flea prevention and heartworm prevention most have sensitive stomachs and/or skin and that can cost as well. I feed a top of the line premium dog food to help with vet. cost and also to aid in any stomach issues. Overall it's never boring with a dane. No matter where you go people always notice you and it never fails someone will always ask " does he come w/a saddle?" Danes are very loyal and need to be w/there people which is one of the reasons I adore this breed and to be so big there very careful inside the house. Hope this helps :)
The Great Dane Dog Breed has a personality and temperament that is friendly and kind. Great Danes are not a particularly energetic breed of dog, but they do require daily walks or they can become bored and destructive.
