They both rose from the same being, Egniorac, the ruler of sheer existence. The two are said to reside in parallel dimensions within our galaxy. the two are forbidden to interact or they will have a huge brawl and rip a hole in the time-space continuum. but if one were to be eliminated, than the other would cease to exist as well, and Egniorac will become enfuriated. in its agony it will destroy the galaxy. planets will desintegrate, stars will collapse,all life will be terminated. there is only one way to stop the enraged Egnoriac. you must confront it directly, calm it down, and present it with the stone of space and the jewel of time. it is from these that the two great beings will rise again. all of the damage will be repaired but at a price. the one who saved the galaxy will be sacrificed to provide the energy needed.
