There are four words in Greek for teacher, depending on if the person is male or female, teaches younger or older students. DASkalos - male teacher for grade school students (but can also be used to mean instructor as in driving instructor) dasKALa - female teacher for younger kids kathigitIS - male teacher high school and university kathiGItra - female teacher for high school and university teacher = δάσκαλος (daskalos)
School translates to σχολείο in Greek (sko-LAY-oh).
It doesn't have two words. "Didache, didasko" means "teach, teaching. "Didaskos" "teacher"

You can say athlete in Greek by saying athlitis. If you wanted to say the word sports in Greek it would be athlitismos.
