1. Gravity is one of the four fundamental forces known to physics.

2. On a small scale (such as the atomic or sub-atomic scale) gravity is too weak to notice or to affect anything, but since the effect of gravity is cumulative, large objects have strong gravitational fields.

3. Isaac newton was the first person to describe the force of gravity with mathematical precision. Prior to Newton, the best people could do was to observe that objects tend to fall.

4. Isaac Newton's theory is not 100% accurate although it is a good approximation, and an even more accurate description was later made by Albert Einstein. There are some scientists who think that it is possible to devise an even more accurate description than Einstein's theory of gravity, although so far that has not happened. They are working on it.

5. It is believed that the force of gravity can be so intense, in objects known as black holes, that even light cannot escape from its pull.
