Eukaryotic cells are significantly larger than prokaryotic cells. These are the two basic types of cells in our world. Prokaryotic cells do not have a nucleus, whereas eukaryotic cells do. They both do most of the same functions and conduct them in the same ways, but the two main differences between these kinds of cells is that eukaryotic cells are larger, and much more complex, than prokaryotic cells.

Eukaryotics are also usually multi cellular, as opposed to prokaryotic cells that are only one cell. Prokaryotic cells actually have two different kinds: archeabacteria and eubacteria. Archeabacteria are known to thrive in extreme places.

Examples of a Prokaryotic cell include protista, fungi, plants and animals. Eukaryotic cells evolved 1.5 billion years ago and do not have a nucleus. An example of a Eukaryotic cell is bacteria.
