Renesmee is not a vampire, she is half-vampire and half-human. Also her vampire characteristics are just an addition to her human characteristics. She has a beating heart, blood in her vains, however, in addition to those she has vampire characteristics. In the common sense, the vampire model is described with these characteristic features: (s)he... - lives in the night, sleeps during the day - has no shadow - drinks blood - beautiful and venomous - fears from garlic - fears from crucifix and christian religion - is burnt by silver - is burnt in sunlight - lives forever - reads your thoughts However, a vampire only need to have a majority of these characteristics to be a vampire. How do you know youre a vampire?

In reality, there's no such thing as vampires, but many who eat mainly meat (especially if not full cooked), are very strong and fast and have other special abilities may consider themselves "vampires" because these are vampire characteristics. Being a vampire is more of a psychological view of ones self and their abilities seeming it's not "real".
