Pesticides are composed of various chemicals like cadmium, Mercury which enter the human body via the food chain which has its dependence on groundwater. Chemicals like cadmium cause death on consumption.

Pesticides not only harm the insects and pests but also the local fauna like snakes and earthworms which are natural pesticides and decomposers. Snakes kill the rats living in the farm.

when they are sprayed on fruits and vegetables to keep insects away that may eat them the pesticides are there when the humans consume them as well. Since pesticides are poisonous to more than just insects it harms the people who eat the food, while not usually in a fatal way over time the continued consumption of these poisons will cause health problems. That is a good question! pesticides are supposed to be bad for the human body, unless and until proved otherwise. Pesticides kill the pests. Pests belong to animal kingdom. If pesticides kill, they are poisons. They are likely to hurt you. You have so many pesticides. Every year, you have the new ones coming to the market. There safety profile is unknown, specially the long term effects of the poisons. No doubt, you can invent the pesticides, which are safe to human being. But the process will be too expensive and cumbersome. Pesticides manufacturers are less likely to fallow the same.
