What is prompt writing?

A writing prompt is a short entry that generally contains a question to help you pick a topic to write about. An example would be: If you could travel to any place, real or fictional, from any time, what would it be and why?

Writing prompts are bassically an idea you have to write about. For example,

"Writing prompt: Families are important because"

You would write about why families are important. Be careful though, because some might say it needs to be persuasive, formal, ect. style of writing.

"Writing prompt: Persuade your parent to let you get a car."

You would have to write a pursasive essay about why you should get a car. Writing prompts don't neccisary have to be true. Like the question above, you might already have a car or don't want one. Just write as if you wanted one. Writing prompts are normally short, but the length depends on the situation.
