Neville Livingston is listed as the composer on allmusic.com for the Electric Boogie, which was the orgininal Electric Slide, performed by Marcia Griffiths and Fatal Attraction. See the entry for "Electric Slide" at wikipedia.com for more info on both versions. There is another popular version by Grandmaster Slice, which is more of a rap song, but uses the basic beat and tune of the original, and the writing credit for that version is given to DJ Adam T.

The Electric Slide is actually the name of the viral four-wall two-step line dance that has become so popular at wedding receptions and the like. The name of the song is Electric Boogie.

Reggae artist Bunny Wailer wrote and recorded the song in the 70's and has been covered by many artists. The familiar version that you hear all the time was recorded by "Queen of the Reggae" Marcia Griffiths. Her version at least made the charts but only peaked at number 51, which is why you normally don't hear it on the radio.

Bunny Wailer also writes and records as Bunny Livingston. His full name is Neville O'Riley Livingston.

Grandmaster Slice does the remix. It's not bad but not great either.
