I don't have any statistics on this but my money is on the Beatles, unless the Bee Gee's beat them out.

depends on where you are talking about. The Beatles have had the most No.1 singles in the U.S. 2nd in the U.K

Conway Twitty had the most with 55 until 2006 when George Strait passed that mark.

edit-In the US the Beatles only had 27 #1 hits surpassed greatly by Country Music group Alabama with 41 #1s

Solo Artist George Strait has 50+ #1 hits not sure the exact number!(57) I think!

Kill Me If You Can, its a very well known heavy death metal band from Prumerend, Holland.

They started back in 1966 when metal was VERY underground and they all dead last year in October in a car accident in Peru. They have written over 600 songs. Much respect for them.

Depends on the country one lives in really.. and the genre.. but if you refer to the billboard pop charts from the USA, the beatles are #1 by a group with singles at #1 (20) over The Supremes (at 12), and 1st overall. Believe it or not, Mariah Carey is second (18), Elvis third (17), and MJ (13) 4th. Madonna is tied with the Supremes with 12 #1 hits in the US.
