The First Battle of Bull Run (Manassas) where Union General McDowell was defeated by Confederate generals Beauregard and Johnston. The battle took place in July of 1861.
Most of them died of smallpox due to the very contact with Europeans; by the time the final siege against Tenochtitlan was carried out, most civilians were fleeing the city, slaughtered or enslaved. Not many of them were thinking on the destruction of their civilization at the hands of Cortes and his men.
