George Washington fought in the French and Indian War under the British. His first battle was the Battle of Fort Necessity. Washington had to surrender to the French.

Then George Washington was picked by Congress to be Commander in Chief of the Revolutionary Army. Some of the battles he was in were: Battle of Trenton, Princeton, Brandywine, Saratoga, Long Island, Saratoga and Yorktown.
