What kind of breed is the dog on santa paws?

15 minutes into the movie, my 3 y/o yelled, Momma, isn't like Sammy. Santa paws, like Sammy. Sam is our Great Pyrenees mix. He's an awesome dog. Amazing with kids. A lot of people who aren't familiar with the breed think he's a bit dense, but ti's quite the opposite. Although he was a stubborn little punk as a baby (we got him at 8 weeks, and 22lbs), he didn't potty train until he was good and ready, and he chewed up what ever he wanted to get attention, he has always been a great dog. As a herder by tradition, he has been known to stand in front of my sons. to prevent them from going into the kitchen (or what ever room they've been told 'no' for at the moment), to prevent them from coming in. And although he's almost pitiful while doing so, head down, tail down, in such a pitiful stance. He has bdeen known to literally lean over on them, until they fall down on their little diapered butts, to keep them out. He started sleeping on the foot of my bed when my husband first deployed to Afghanistan, and will lay there and willingly let me shuffle my feet under him, to keep them warm, with nothing more then a sigh. As a mix, he's only an 80lb baby. But i can't imagine any other dog, no matter the size, being such a loving, caring dog. Their hair, yeah, it's a pain in the butt, and they need a big yard/area to play, but they're amazing dogs!
