I have no idea if the large ears help them hear better. But the PURPOSE of the large ears is to better dissipate heat away from their bodies, to help keep them cool. Hippos don't need large ears because they spend most of their time in the water.

Your cat is most likely just a mixed breed like all of ours, but she might be part Siamese, considering the black tail/ears and angular head.

Because Santa put a spell on you and you turned into an elf! You have to make toys! my cat has pointy ears! He is an undercover elf! //////when dogs are puppies they usually have floppy ears but as they mature depending on the breed the ears will stand up and become pointy
Could you be more specific, there are lots of brown dogs with pointy ears of many breeds
German shepards have pointy ears too. But it's just the kind of breed they are.
Yes
None; they must be born with it!
Not usually. It depends on the breed, though. Because most small dogs have flappy ears, their hearing is generally impaired compared to their pointy eared cusins. Dogs whos ears sort of go up then flop, as well as get pulled back against the head ((like a gray hound)) usually have the best hearing. Dog's with pointy ears that stick straight up are second in line, and dogs who have floppy ears are usually deaf compared to other breeds.

all dogs ears hang, the ones with pointy ears got the ears cut tht way. most get their ears cut when puppies
It depends on you dogs breed, a German Shepherd may still be growing so their ears will flop, a mutt on the other hand will usually have a mix between pointy and floppy ears.
