Almost all enzymes are proteins, and like other proteins, they can be denatured by exposure to heat, radiation, electricity, certain chemicals, or fluids with extreme pH values.

For example, many enzymes become inactive at 45°C, and nearly all of them are denatured at 55

°C.

What is enzyme affinity?

its how enzymes and substrates are attracted to each other

Are Enzymes are not chemically altered in a reaction?

Yes. That is the actual definition of an enzyme.

How allosteric enzymes differ non allosteric?

Allosteric enzymes have the ability to change their conformational ensemble after binding. This changes their affinity at a different ligand binding site.

Are enzymes permanently change in the chemical reactions they are involved in?

No. That is one of the definitions of an enzyme. It is NOT altered in the reaction.

Are antibodies proteins that catalyze chemical reactions without being physically altered?

True

Why do enzymes stop working at high temperatures in the process of photosynthesis?

Enzymes stop working at high teperatures during photosynthesis because the heat changes their shape. If the enzymes shape is altered then it can not catalize what it is supposed to.

When was Affinity - Affinity album - created?

Affinity - Affinity album - was created in 1970.

What is mnemonical enzyme?

Allosteric enzymes are mostly polymeric in nature i.e. they are made up of several subunits. These enzymes exhibit cooperativity i.e. binding of a ligand to the active site alters (increase or decrease) the binding affinity of the ligand on other sites. Some monomeric enzymes also exhibit cooperativity. Those monomeric enzymes which exhibit cooperativity are called mnemonical enzymes. Hexokinase D (an isoenzyme of hexokinase) is one such example.

Does an enzymes function depends on its three dementional shape?

yes, because (for example) if an enzyme denatures, then its shape is altered, therefore its functions are destroyed.

What is affinity?

Affinity is close relationship.

What characteristics can differ in enzymes?

Enzymes are the substances present in the cell in small amounts that function to speed up or catalyze chemical reactions. Characterstics of Enzymes: * Chemically, enzymes are generally globular proteins. * Enzymes are catalyst that break down or synthesize more complex compounds. * Enzymes are only present in small amounts in the cell since they are not altered during their reactions. * Enzymes are highly specific for their substrate.

Are enzymes altered in the process of catalyzing chemical transformations?

they alter their shape in the process, but come unaltered at the end of the reaction (one of the main characteristics of catalysts)
