Large population of the developing population of the world is being treated by the unqualified doctors, also called quacks. They do not know how to use the drugs. This phenomena has resulted in emergence of the multi drug resistant organisms. This has threatened the existence of the humanity as a whole. It is high time to realize that the world has become like a small village. This has happened due to internet and better mode of transports. It is high time to realize that you can not achieve the isolated progress, with out regards to the progress of the neighbours. The reasons are mostly economical and social. Economical to be more precise. Because the society improve socially, when the economical conditions tend to improve. The sociologists, economists and politicians should sit together and think over the same. The solution may not be a perfect one, but it will be much better one. The problems can be solved by understanding the teachings of the religions, I guess. The ego of the individuals, the society, the country and the individual religion is the biggest obstacle in understanding the religion. The earlier we realize, the better future we will provide to humanity in particular and ecosystem of the earth and ecosystem in general.

What is the biggest challenge in the field of microbiology?

Developing new antibiotics that are effective against multi-drug resistant strains of pathogenic bacteria such as methicillin resistant Staph.

Why the multi drug resistant bacteria has not taken over and killed the whole human population?

The multi drug resistant bacteria was detected in 2008 for the first time. Large scale misuse of the antibiotics by the quacks was the reason for emergence of this so called superbug bacteria. There was speculation that this type of bacteria will spread very rapidly. It was suppose to engulf the whole human population. Every sensible citizen was worried about the threat to the humanity. This dreaded bacteria continue to create the problems as expected. But it did not spread in geometrical progression as expected. Why this did not happen has been bothering me over the years. Now that I have come to know the probable reason for the same. This is a guess work and open for the discussion. You had such type of bacteria, Typhoid bacteria to be more precise. It became resistant to the commonly used antibiotic, that was Chloramphenicol. I thought that it was the end. Fortunately the new antibacterial came to the rescue. That was Ciprofloxacin. But with time the Typhoid bacteria once again became sensitive to the Chloramphenicol. That means the drug resistant bacteria are fragile as compared to the 'wild' variety of the bacteria. Same principle has applied to multi drug resistant bacteria also. They are more fragile than the 'wild' variety of bacteria. So they did not spread with geometrical proportion. But the spread by arithmetic progression can not be prevented.

Which physiological chemicals can be used to treat the gram positive infections?

Due to large scale misuse of antibiotics by the unqualified doctors, you have landed in the problem of emergence of multi drug resistant bacteria. Now you have to invent the new antibiotics. The bile salts prevent the growth of gram positive bacteria. That is the reason why gram negative bacteria grow in the the intestinal tract. So this chemical can be used by intravenous route to treat the systemic infections by gram positive bacteria. There will be toxic accumulation of this chemical in the body. It is reabsorbed by enterohepatic circulation. So you have to invent the chemical or pair of chemicals, which will do precipitation of the bile salts in the intestine. The efficacy of this remedy has to be tried in clinical practice in case of the multi drug resistant gram positive infections.

What infections cannot be cured with antibotics?

Some infections are resistant or immune to antibiotics. These are not all created equal and are each immune to specific antibiotics. Important examples are methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus (VRE) and multi-drug-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MDR-TB) and Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase-producing bacteria (KPC).

Are bacteria multi-celled?

No

How do you Manage Multi tasking?

how to avoid overload

Can you catch MRSA if you are on antibiotics?

Yes you can. MRSA is a multi drug resistant Staff aureus bacteria. If you are on an antibiotic that the MRSA is resistant to, then it's as if you not taking any antibiotic. Keep in mind that the reason we have MRSA is because of the widespread use of antibiotics. We often use them unnecessarily for viral infections. These constant exposures allow the bacteria, not just this one, to adapt and survive.

What does MDR-TB stand for?

Multi-Drug resistant tuberculosis

Explain how the excessive or inappropriate use of antibiotics poses a health hazards for human population?

Antibiotics are substances which kill or inhibit bacteria. The problem lies in the fact that bacteria tend to have fairly high mutation rates. These mutation rates yield some bacteria which are more resistant to the antibiotics than other bacteria. Since you have used an antibiotic to destroy all other bacteria in a person, the resistant bacteria is free to spread as much as it can, since the antibiotic used won't kill it. If this is the case, then the person would have to get a different, more appropriate antibiotic to kill the bacteria. In some cases, this can be done multiple times, and you end up with a super-bacteria called multi-antibiotic resistant bacteria. As use of antibiotics spread, so do strains of these MAR bacteria, which are much more deadly than their relatives So what can be done? First, use antibiotics less. Studies show that they are over-prescribed. Second, ensure that the proper antibiotic is prescribed. In some cases, an antibiotic which is incorrect for the job to be done is one of the culprits.
