Check the fuel pressure. There should be a test port near the throttle body.
If that checks out OK, test the spark to make sure the coil packs are working.
If everything checks out, try a little starting fluid to see if you can run the engine briefly that way. If it will start with starting fluid and not without, you have a fuel delivery problem and you need to go back through and test everything along the way. If you have good pressure to the test port, that's not the problem.
Had the problem with Bonneville not starting....turned out to be the security module. Your mechanic should be able to bypass the security module with a $15 part from Radio Shack. Pretty easy fix.
Well luckily for you I'm working on a 2000 Bonneville non supercharged car right now. Same code... I can hear a hissing noise from the passenger side of the engine.... found the actual map sensor has come apart.... maybe this will be your problem. Good luck.
I suspect multiple problems. The blank or intermittent odometer problem is a common problem in the 2002 Ford Explorer. The ABS and airbag lights are most likely a different problem than the odometer problem. For complete information on the intermittent odometer problem, see http://www.odometer-repair.com .
Likley a starting motor problem Likley a starting motor problem
We are having the same problem with my daughters 1999 sunfire, it turns over runs 2 seconds , it appears to be anti theft device ,if you wait ten minutes and try it again it will start, but not sure on how to disable the device , no help as yet,but after 10 minutes it re-sets itself and will start, if that is your problem .
Have vehicle scanned to determine the problem
You could have a short from the controlls to the fan

I had this problem on a 94 Bonneville after we had fixed the brakes. After I disconnected the battery and reconnected the light went off and the dinging stopped. Not sure if this was related or just coincidence.
The blue symbol on the grill. It's oval. Trade it in!!
See the answer to 2000 Bonneville Neutral Safety Switch Location. Had the same problem and that was my fix. You can install a separate Start Button in the Starter circuit to start the car also.
Could be a broken belt in one of your radial tires. Have them "spin balanced" to see it this is the problem.
Answer: Intermittent problems are very hard to diagnose. Your no start problem may be your fuel pump. Try to check it for pressure during the not start problem. Also, check for spark at the spark plugs. From what you described, your problem could be the coil module, the cam angle sensor or the crank angle sensor.
camshaft or crankshaft sensor, or fuel injector circuit problem! This is from the actron code scanner book.
it could be the crank sensor as it is a problem for the altimas.
I had this problem with my 1994 Bonneville SE. would try checking the transmission fluid level(that was the problem with mine). If the transmission fluid level is where it's supposed to be then it could be that the transmission is going out or you may need to check the torque converter. I think that can also cause the problem.
I HAD A 1990 BONNEVILLE I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH.IT TURNED OUT TO BE THE CRANK SENSOR.ITS BEHIND THE HARMONIC BALANCER. HOPE THIS HELPS
