In the center of the dash on the left side is a timer relay. it is probably bad, causing the delay part of the lights to not work.
Most likely some type of electrical shortage. A wire may have become disconnected. The same thing can happen with interior lights, you'll have to take it in to get looked at.

It sounds as if there is a problem with the rear electronics module in the Ford Windstar. This controls the front and rear lights and it is located in the back in the cubby with the jack.
One solution is to check the dash dimmer switch, it could be the cause if it is rotated all the way up which turns on the interior lights on.Much more likely one of the door sensors is sending a false open signal - extremely common in the Windstars.Luckily it's an easy fix.See "Related Questions" below for much more
