What can cause the rear brake pads to wear out before the front pads on a 2000 Tahoe?

This does appear to be a particular problem for all GM trucks and SUVs. The problem could be a poor design, or intentional design of premature rear brake pad wear for aftermarket sales. I have asked several GM service departments about this problem. All have admitted seeing excessive rear brake wear before the front, none can or will explain it.

If the front brake caliper is sticking, the disc may be uneven. Brakes that are left to scrape on the disc for a long time before they are changed will damage the disc enough to cause sticking or slipping.

That is the anti locking brake sensor / wheel speed sensor
