The sun has never passed between the moon and the Earth. If it did, we'd all

be in big trouble, as the space between the moon and the Earth isn't even big

enough for the sun to fit through. Fortunately, we don't have much to worry

about, since the sun is almost 400 times as far away from us as the moon is.
