What many people forget about marketing is that a big part of successful marketing is creating rewarding customer experiences. To create that experience you have to look at it more than just a car lot, you need to look at it as a place where your potential customers will remember to come back to your establishment because they want to buy from only you. You want them to feel excited about being at your car lot.
To do this try creating an advertisement a month in advance announcing a great free BBQ. Don't even mention the cars other than the fact that you sell them. This is to not create a fear of a sales pitch. As a matter of fact even mention that, add "No Sales Pitches, Just a Good Ole Fashioned BBQ" to the advertisement, or something like that.
Have your local newspaper and channels even do a story on the event before it occurs to generate a bigger buzz. In performing these actions you will create a warm market for your vehicle sales and advertising that will continue through word of mouth long after your event, especially if you are a good BBQ cook ;)
