A roping horse is taught to race after a steer or calf that is running away from it and come to a halt when the loop the cowboy or cowgirl riding it has caught the calf or steer by the legs or horns, respectively. It has been taught to keep that rope taut so that the calf or steer (or heifer, bull or cow, depending on whether you're referring to rodeo events or a typical ranch roping horse) does not escape. When the cowboy/cowgirl is done, the horse is given the signal with the reins or feet of the person riding it to give slack while the lasso is removed from the calf or steer and coiled up or taken into hand again.
Horses can: Walk, Trot, Canter, Gallop, Pony Games, Jump, Dressage And Alot More But I Cant Be Bothered To Write Them All Coz There Is Loads Lol !
you can walk, trot, gallop, jump.
You can ride the horse, gallop and leap.
well im not really sure but im sure that your not aloud to canter because i wasnt even aloud to trot while other people were getting on so no you cant canter but you can walk unless your horse trys to nap the other horses or your riding instructor tells you not to. This has never been a issue with me... in the riding school when the other riders are getting ready... you really shouldn't canter for two reasons 1) Your horse won't be warmed up and can be hurt. 2) If your in a small school you might bumb into the other horses.... you should do some walking... maybe half the school walking and then trot for a while doing lots of 20 metre circles.... a-b and stuff like that... and work your way up to canter but never near anybody.

A well trained horse is taught to move away from pressure. To ask the horse correctly, sit quiet, weight in your seat and heels, hands relaxed, then lightly press your outside heel to his side. So if you want your horse to take his rightlead, you press with your left heel. Reverse the process for the other direction. This is for riding in an enclosed arena or large paddock. The rail being the outside I refered to.It is always safest to practice the canter on flat dry turf in an enclosed area. If you feel insecure have a friend help you with the longe line. Hook the line onto the horse's bridle in a safe place, so as not to hurt his mouth. Just as if he were being longed without a rider, start with the walk, then trot, then the canter. Just remember that this will take practice so don't be discouraged if you don't attain instant success.*Remember to always wear protective head gear and riding boots/shoes.
If you have problems controlling your horse in a canter or gallop you should try using a martingale or if you find your saddle (girth) loosens while working you should use a breast plate to stop the saddle sliding, for protection you might want to use hard shelled polo wraps . Hope i helped Ta Eaimer x

my friend took it so this is just a brief outline, you would be better off to ask your teacher. it was basically just the simple stuff like how to get the horse ready for riding (saddle, reigns...) and how to get on and then you have to be able to walk, canter, trot, jump (only a small one).if you ask your teacher though they should give you the requirements.
They went to the theatre and wrote poems and horse rode and other stuff! Hope this helps!
