However in our society many of the sues of plastic would be difficult to replace with other older materials - medical supplies, strong but light structural materials , insulation and fibers.
It is therefore necessary to use the needed plastics in a responsible fashion - recycling where possible, minimizing were possible and ultimately disposing in an appropriate manner
