Many people were burned to death, espeicaly around the water, where people went to drink, and drank boiling, radioactive water. Thousands of people die, and Cities are ruined. Crops all around the world, and farm animals, are coveried in Radioactivity so may people suffer from cancer and die. If enough Atomic Bombs go off, We will suffer a nuclear Winter.
The Battleship Arizona was hit several times- did suffer explosions- and sank with heavy casualties.

the bomb was dropped on japan because the us did not want to suffer the estimated 1 million American casualties, and the estimated 14 million civilian deaths. additionally most of the Japanese cultural sites would have been destroyed. The bomb also gave the Japanese government an honorable way to surrender to the Americans, whereas losing the island in battle was highly dishonorable, the bomb was seen as god like.

The casualties for the atomic bombs dropped onto Japan was 215,000 dead and 1,900 more dead after the war. The majority which died during post war was mainly due to solid cancer, it was reported that 1,700 died from solid and 200 died from Leukemia due to exposed of radiation from the atomic bomb drops in 1945.
