well, first the king of Macedonia, king Alexander, or Alexander the great, was left his fathers plan to carry out. the plan was to destroy the mighty Persian empire. but before he could do that he decided to take over Greece. he took over the city-states one by one and even bribed some into surrendering. some even allied voluntarily.
