Cosmic blobs of gas collapse in on themselves to form stars and planets.

Bands of dust which were not captured by any of the planets fell together under their own gravity to form the bodies of asteroids and comets. "Leftover" chunks of rock, basically.

When an asteroid, comet, or other such debris falls through he atmosphere we call it a meteor. If any solid part of it lands on earth, it is called a "meteorite".

Meteors are simply particles differing in size and shape that have entered Earth's atmosphere. While they were in space there was nothing but space. When they hit our atmosphere those particles burn up from the friction caused by their rubbing against matter in our atmosphere.

A meteoroid is a small sand to boulder sized particle of debris in the Solar System. The visible path of a meteoroid that enters Earth's atmosphere is called a meteor, or commonly a "shooting star" or "falling star". If a meteoroid reaches the ground, it is then called a meteorite.

when a meteoroid enters the Earth's atmosphere.

meteoroid----> cant see them , never

meteor--------> you can see them glowing and then suddenly it disappears. they are sometimes are called shooting stars but they are not stars.

Loose chunks of space rocks are created either through impact with a large planetary body or are remnants from the pre-planetary era of the solar system. Those chunks are caught in Earth's orbit. Before they enter the atmosphere they are asteroids, when they enter the atmosphere they are meteoroids, when they light up due to friction they are meteors, when they hit the ground they are meteorites.

Comets are made out of rock and ice, looking like dirty snowballs in space. The ice alone, is not only made of water, but also carbon dioxide, methane, and other things. As a comet approaches the sun, it melts and leaves behind bits of rock to orbit the sun. Soon earth will collide with its orbit and meteoroids and meteors form.

A meteor shower is a celestial event in which a number of meteors are observed to radiate, or originate, from one point in the night sky. These meteors are caused by streams of cosmic debris called meteoroids entering Earth's atmosphere at extremely high speeds on parallel trajectories. Most meteors are smaller than a grain of sand, so almost all of them disintegrate and never hit the Earth's surface. Intense or unusual meteor showers are known as meteor outbursts and meteor storms, which may produce greater than 1,000 meteors an hour.[1]The Meteor Data Center lists about 600 suspected meteor showers of which about 100 are well established.[2]

the comets break into pieces as they approach very close to the sun. When Earth's orbit cross the orbit of comet, these broken pieces fall on the Earth. Most of the pieces are burnt up by the heat generated due to friction in the Earth's atmosphere. They s called meteors.

A meteoroid is a rock floating through space. When it runs into the Earth's atmosphere, it is heated to incandescence as it enters. The glowing path is a "meteor".

Once it lands on the ground, it is called a "meteorite". IF it lands; most meteoroids are vaporized and do not survive the fall from space.

When comets come near to the Sun, the Sun's heat melts some of the ice of the comet, and the water vapor and other gasses push a little bit of the comet's dust away from the Sun. But the dust particles continue to follow the comet's orbit, spreading out just a little through the years and the orbits. Over the course of millions of years, entire orbit of the comet is occupied by tiny, faint trails of dust particles. Eventually the comet evaporates completely and ceases being a comet, but the thousands of years worth of dust trails continue to fall through the solar system.

On a dozen or so days of the year, the Earth passes through (or near) one of the ancient cometary dust trails. When this happens - here around August 11 or 12 each year, for example - we have a meteor "shower", when the normal rate of a dozen or so meteors per hour can increase to several hundred meteors per hour.

The meteors are most often seen in the early morning hours from about midnight till dawn, because the sunrise line is the "leading edge" of the Earth as it orbits the Sun.

What comet is associated with the Orionids meteor shower?

Halley's Comet

Is cloud a celestial object?

No. A celestial object is an object in outer space, such as a planet, star, meteor or comet. Clouds are not in outer space, therefore they are not a celestial object.

Can the Leonids Meteor Shower be viewed in Jamaica and at what time and where in sky can I find it?

Any meteor shower can be observed from anywhere in the world. The best time to see meteors is between midnight and dawn. Our understanding of the precise location of the debris streams is not as accurate as people like to think, and the predictions are often off by several hours. Each recorded observation improves the predictions for the next encounter with this comet track, of course, but we are often surprised when meteors fall in greater or lesser numbers than were expected.Meteor showers occur when the Earth passes through or near the orbit of a comet. Comets shed dust and gravel on each pass through the inner solar system, and the debris lags very slightly behind the comet's nucleus. As the centuries pass, the entire orbit of the comet becomes somewhat dusty, and when Earth passes through the dust trail, we get meteor "showers".However, meteors can enter the Earth's atmosphere at any time.

What is a chunk of rock or dust in space that usually comes from a comet or an asteroid is?

"Meteoroid". If it actually hits the Earth's atmosphere, the streak of light will be a "meteor", and if the object survives to impact the Earth's surface then we call the remains a "meteorite".

What causes meteors shower?

There are tiny dust-sized particles in Earth's path around the Sun. These particles are usually leftovers from asteroids or comets. When Earth passes through these particles, they burn up in our atmosphere producing bright lines. This is called a meteor shower.. . .a group of meteors that have an orbit that intersects the orbit of Earth, resulting in a large number of meteors entering the atmosphere in a relatively short span of time. Said another way. . .Meteor showers typically come about due to temporarily high concentrations of sun-orbiting debris that crosses the orbital path of Earth and, hence, collide with her atmosphere. While there are no "comet groups", comets being invariably solitary, debris cast off from a comet during its close approach to the sun can participate as "meteoric" space junk that encounters Earth during a meteor shower. Meteor showers tend to arise from old comets that have broken up and spread out along the comet's orbit. A meteor shower happens when the Earth's orbit intersects one of these old comets' orbits. That is why the same shower happens around the same date each year, and the meteors in that shower all appear from the same 'radiant point'.
