Some foods cause gas when they digest in the intestines. The gas is liberated by the intestinal bacteria eating sugars and starches.

The majority of gas results from swallowing air while eating and drinking. Chew with your mouth shut and don't talk while eating.

The gas contains nitrogen, methane and hydrogen. Odours are generally due to sulfurous compounds.

Over consumption of starches and other foods are the main cause of gas in the gastrointestinal tract. It means you are overeating beyond the digestive tracts capacity of your upper GI tract. These undigested nutrients enter the bacteria laden small and large intestine and the bacteria produce the gas as a result of incomplete digestion.

Some people have intestinal gas as a result of swallowing air while they are eating. This leads to an odorless expulsion of gas.

Take a symethecone tablet, that will collapse the bubbles making it more comfortable.
