I was told it is a computer issue. Try Disconnecting the battery for about 30 minutes to reset the computer, then reconnect. This has worked on my wife's 2005 300c and my sons 2004 Dodge dakota.
Possible headlight switch. Try wiggling the controls to see if it stop or gets worse.

Button on overhead console
remove the screw near the front of the overhead console. Using a trim removel tool, gently pry the unit away from the headliner on the left and right side of the overhead console.
I googled "04 Dodge Ram Manual" and downloaded the service manual from one of the links, which is different than the owners manual. The service manual is 2000+ pages long....here's what is says about the overhead console removal procedure....REMOVAL OVERHEAD CONSOLE REMOVAL (1) Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. (2) Remove the overhead console retaining screws, located in the sunglass storage bin. (3) Using your fingertips, grasp the sides of the overhead console and pull straight down evenly to disengage the two snap clips at the front of the unit. (4) Lower the overhead console far enough to access the wire harness connectors. (5) Disconnect the EVIC, CMTC electronic module and the reading/courtesy lamps electrical connectors. (6) Remove the overhead console from the vehicle. INSTALLATION (1) Position the overhead console in the vehicle. (2) Connect the EVIC, CMTC electronic module and the reading/courtesy lamps electrical connectors. (3) Grasp the sides of the overhead console and push straight up evenly to engage the two snap clips at the rear of the unit. (4) Install the overhead console retaining screw, located in the front of console. Torque the screw to 1.2 N·m (10 in. lbs.). (5) Connect the negative battery cable. The 1999 Dodge Durango overhead console wiring connections are beneath the overhead console. You will need to remove the overhead console?æin order to access the wiring connections.
