When the Norse Vikings invaded new territory, most of the time they stole goods,(such as gold, weapons, grains, foods, sometimes even timber) livestock, and pretty much plundered villages. Or as my History teacher so elegently put it, when vikings invade they rape and burn, rape and burn.
