The 6th of January is the day when Epiphany of the Lord is celebrated. This is the day we celebrate the comming of the Magi who brought gifts to the Christ child.

Contrary to many nativity depictions the Magi (Wise Men) did not come to the stable where Jesus Christ was born but arrived sometime later, and as scripture says they found him and his mother in the house where they were staying.

This marks the end of the Christmas season of the Western Church.

The Epiphany is a celebration of the three wise men offering gifts to baby Jesus (gold, frankincense and myrrh), which Christians fixed at January 6th early on.
