The men wore white togas, (short dresses that usually wrapped around the body and tied at the shoulder) and the women wore longer dresses of the same style. Sandals were the common footwear. The men wore their hair short, and the women tied their hair up into a chignon. (a chignon is a bun of curly, hair, pinned flat to the crown of the head)
