What color complements blue?

Well, really it depends what shade of blue it is. But since blue is a cool color, than it should probably match with other cool colors (purple, green). It wouldn't look very good with warm colors (red, orange, maybe yellow). Blue can also match with white and black because white and black match with any colors!

What color is opposite of brown?

How do you make the colors black and white?

You don't. Use black to adjust the shade of a color. Use white to adjust the tint of a color. You can make black with equal amounts of magenta, yellow, and cyan. That's how my color printer does it. The traditional primaries make brown instead of black, because they must be leaky to make any kind of green or violet. The traditional complements make brown because they are not truly complementary, but lean toward orange or yellow.

Does purple look good with green eyes?

Is a white picture frame or black picture frame better for framing black and white photographs?

The most important part of choosing a picture frame is to make sure the frame is not muted by your wall. Never pick a frame that is the same color as the wall behind it. Pick a picture frame that complements the shading in the black and white photograph.

What colors are similar to red?

Because of the limitations imposed by the range of colors that were available throughout most of the history of art, many artists still use a traditional set of complementary pairs, including (as proposed by Goethe, cf. Goethe's color wheel):red and greenblue and orangeyellow and violetThe complement of each primary color (red, blue, or yellow) is roughly the color made by mixing the other two in a subtractive system:red complements (blue + yellow) = greenblue complements (red + yellow) = orangeyellow complements (red + blue) = violetWhen two complements of opaque paint are mixed, they approximate black. For example, a little bit of ultramarine mixed with red, produces a dark variation of black so ultramarine needs to be opposite red and not orange. Ultramarine and orange make brown. Placed side by side as tiny dots, in partitive color mixing, ultramarine and yellow produce gray.[2] As colored light projected on a white screen, in additive color mixing, they produce white. The use of complementary colors is an important aspect of aesthetically pleasing art and graphic design. This also extends to other fields such as contrasting colors in logos and retail display. When placed next to each other, complements make each other appear brighter. On an artistic color wheel, complementary colors are placed opposite one another. Although these artistic complements may not be precise complements under the scientific definition, most artistic color wheels are laid out roughly like the HSV color wheel discussed above.

Why is black not a color and white is a color?
