The colors vary by species. I have had several ducks that were all purchased as hatchlings. They are rather fuzzy, but usually have the beginnings of whatever colors they will be as an adult. In my experience, they have been yellow, white, black, gray, brown, mixed, and spotted.

It is a white color if a white duck made it. Or if it is a brown egg, the duck was not white. Duck eggs do not change color to indicate if they will hatch or not. You can't tell by the color.

this is true but if they start to stink a little,TURN BLACK, of it goes over 28-35days after the mom started sitting on them they are more then likely dead another way to see if the eggs will hatch is to see if they are furitle by candling them(candling them is where u take a flash light and put it to the egg to see if it has a chick in it

In general mallards have a dark blue speculum (a patch that's distinctly coloured on the secondary feathers of most birds) that is bordered by white, and they have orange feet.

Males have a glossy green head with a white 'necklace' around its neck. It's body plumage is grey and it has a chestnut coloured breast. It's tail is black with feathers that curl upwards and its beak is yellow.

Females are overall a mottled brown and their bill is orange with splattered black.
