You would not want to grow a plant in green light because the chlorophyll reflects green light. Many other colors can be used however including red, yellow, and blue. Although it is true that other pigments exist in chlorophyll the primary color is green.

∙ 12y agoPlants use light in both the red and blue spectrum of visible light in photosynthesis. Chlorophyll doesn't use green light well and so it is reflected out, making most plants look green to us. Therefore, green is the most useless color in photosynthesis.
