What comic book was the most popular in 1920?
Comic books were not even invented in 1920. They were first invented in 1934, with "Famous Funnies Series 1 #1". But in the 30's and 40's the comic book series "Action Comics" were the most popular. If you are asking for just 1 comic, then I think either Detective Comics #27, #38 or #40 OR Action Comics #1, #7 or #23.
The last comment said that is was very subjective. That is not true at all. The best selling comic book or, (most sought after) of ALL TIME is X-Men #1. Marvel Comics was given an award from the Guinness Book of World Records at Comic Con in San Diego. Being the best selling, means that more people/stores bought that comic than ANY OTHER, which means it was the MOST popular/wanted comic book ever. One's life:)…
There were none. Comic books began in 1933 with Famous Funnies #1, and the early ones only reprinted comic strips from the newspapers. In the later 1930s, comic books started printing new stories, but most of them were standard detective stories, westerns, or humor. The first comic book superhero was Superman, who first appeared in Action Comics #1, dated June 1938.
Shonen Jump is a Japanese comic book company that was created in the 1990s. Comic strips appear in weekly magazines and popular episodes are featured in comic books. It's a very nice comic reader with some interesting features. It comes with YACReaderLibrary, a comic collection manager. Comic Rack is probably the best choice, as it offers many useful options, is still under active developement and available in many…
It was most popular during the 90's. Johnny Blaze wasnt the protagonist in this run though. It was Dan Ketch, a new character introduced back then because Marvel wanted to try something new and not use Blaze after his 80's comic book run got cut short. In fact, the look of GR in the movies comes from this 90's era of the book.
Before the advent of computers, many comic books were hand lettered. These days, comic book letterers use a variety of different computer fonts, depending on the publisher, who's speaking, the tone of the dialog, and the personal preference of the letterer. Some comic books continue to be hand-lettered. The most common "comic book" font seen on PCs is called COMIC SANS. A good resource for this question would be Comic Book Fonts. See link below.
