It depends on what printing subsystem you have installed. It could reasonably be "print", "lp", or "lpr"; the exact options it takes depend on what the default settings are and which subsystem you're using.

There is no specific printer that you "need" for Windows 98. Any printer with a Windows 98 driver should work.

How do you send a file from Windows to a Unix printer I can send the file to the Unix itself but I need to be able to send a file from Windows straight to a Unix printer Does anyone know how?

There are several ways. One is to have Samba configured on the Unix system so that the Windows system has access to it. Another way is to install the lpr service for windows (most Windows servers now have that service as an installable service). 'lpr' is the Unix printing spooler which would allow you to use the lpr command in windows to print to a Unix printer.

Will a mac wireless printer work on your lenova laptop?

Your problem is not the printer, the problem is availability of windows drivers for the printer. If you find appropriate windows drivers supporting the printer you should not have problems using your laptop with the printer*. *I have assumed that you have windows installed on your laptop.

How do you share windows XP network printer with Windows 7?

I am sharing a Dell Photo AIO Printer 926 running on an XP computer with a computer on the network running Windows 7. When I started, the printer was already installed and working on the XP computer and set up to be shared on the network. Then I ran the 926 printer installation disk (the disk that came with the printer) on the Windows 7 computer. At some point it asked me if the printer was connected to another computer on the network. When I answered "yes" it asked for the name of the other computer on the network and the shared name of the printer. After I answered those questions it proceeded to "install" the printer as if it was connected to the Windows 7 machine and it works perfectly. I was surprised that worked, after having tried many times (unsuccessfully) to connect to it by installing new drivers on the Windows 7 computer. So I would suggest using the printer installation disk on the Windows 7 computer. If you do not have the disk I would suggest trying to get one from the printer manufacturer.

How do you install the Kyocera Fs-720 printer driver on Windows 7 64bit?

Install Windows XP mode on Windows 7. Connect your printer. At the taskbar at the top of the XP mode window, click on the USB tab. Select the Kyocera Fs-720 printer. If it asks you if you want to share, click yes. Your printer is now detected by the virtual xp machine. Download the XP Kyocera Fs-720 driver. Install it. Open the document you want to print in the XP mode and print. You cannot print from Windows 7. You have to do so via the xp mode. To print in the future, you will have to always click on the USB tab and share the printer. (This disconnects it from Windows 7 and connects it to the virtual XP mode machine).
