The Bass Guitar plays a vital role in a band, as it must keep the beat as well as play the tune. The Bass usually focuses on the drums, as they both need each other to help stay in beat. The Bass also enhances the song, giving it more feeling and life, of course, a good bassist is needed to preform such task. Bass is not necessarily easy, just as long as you play the hard stuff.

Bass guitar is an important link between the front-side sound of the band (guitar and vocals) and the rhythm section. A good bass player interacts with and accentuates the drumbeat while also tying it into the surface melodies of the guitar and other lead instruments. In many forms of music it is vital in maintaining the flow and energy of the group as a whole.

because bassists ar very cool but bass is the instrument that kind of holds everything together , being a bassist myself this is very offending and i dont think that you are a very nice person,

A-2

Bass Guitar makes a music live. People love the bass range in Music (Bass drum also plays a big role)

A-3 Bass also adds a "Feeling" to a song, so that the listener can almost feel the beat..It's just a part of the music ...not all songs need a bass (even though in my opnion as a bassist every song needs a 10 min bass solo) But it just adds to the song

A-4 personally i think that no band needs a bassist. I think that it is the bands option if they need/have one. I think that most of the the time the bassist is just so another friend can get in the band, or a pretty boy that makes the band famous.

Yes the bassist does provide a lower end to the song but if u make 10 mill a year and the next year u get a bassist u would lose like 2 mill spliting it between 4 people. If u want a bassist does provide anything to the common goal of the band. To me it is just an extra person in the band to split stuff with

A-5 It honestly depends on your genre of music. I prefer technical death metal. So in this genre all members of the band are very talented at their instrument's. Including the bassist. But if you listen to stuff like Indie and alternative, the bass is pretty much none existent and yes, is just another pretty boy to sell albums. in short, if he's a good bassist, then why not. But again, it all really depends on your genre. (also, the bassist is part of the whole band image, i know if i heard of a band that didn't have a bassist i would most likely be deterred from listening to them)

The bass, along with the drummer, helps anchor the rhythm of a song. It also adds a lower register to the music that helps fill out the sound. Most any kind of music has some sort of lower end which you can hear: classical, techno, rock, blues, jazz, etc. Without this lower end to the music, it ends up having too much treble and sounds flat; less dynamic. Now, this lower end does not necessarily need to be filled with a bass guitar. Keyboards, other electronic instruments or any other bass clef instrument can fill this position. It really all comes down to what kind of music you are trying to make. As a universal rule, however, unless it is a solo act an ensemble needs some sort of bass instrument.

The bass guitar is important, it is the glue of whatever tune the band is playing. If the bass guitar wasn't in a song, the tune just wouldnt sound right. I hope you now understand that music just isnt right without the rhythm machine that is the bass guitar!
