Bile is produced in the liver and stored in the gall bladder. The presence of lipids in the duodenum causes the release of bile. Ultimately the liver and gall bladder control the release of bile.
The cardiac sphincter controls what goes into the duodenum. Chyme is the acidic fluids and partially digested food that goes from the stomach into the small intestine.
A sphincter called the cardiac sphincter also referred to as the lower esophageal sphincter (LES). Some scientists feel that the cardiac sphincter is not a true sphincter valve.
Pylorus Sphincter
Ileocecal valve
pyloric sphincter
Between the stomach-small intestine is the Pyloric. Between the small intestine and large intestine is the ileo-caecal. Then 2 sphincters at the end of the "process:" one to send messages to your brain to tell you to go to the bathroom and one to "control" yourself.
The Pyloric Sphincter is a ring of muscles that regulates the emptying of the stomach into the duodenum and prevents the contents of the small intestine from moving back into the stomach.
The Pyloric Sphincter controls the movement of food between the stomach and the small intestine.
Pyloric sphincter function is to push digested food from the lower part of the stomach into the Duodenum. It does this by the Sphincter muscle (circular muscle at an orifice) contracting closing the opening, then when relaxed it openings. this is done involuntarily. Kinda like passing stool, the sphincter muscle in the rectum (the anus) contracts and relaxes pushing the stool out of orifice, However, this is done voluntarily when constipated.
The duodenum is the first part of the small intestine and it is about 20 feet from the beginning of the large intestine.
Pyloric sphincter is located at the base of the stomach and is the contracting ring of muscle which guards the entrance of the to small intestine. It keeps the stomach shut at the far end so that it has a chance to digest proteins, then it opens and allows the contents of the stomach, now called chyme, to pass through the pyloric sphincter and enter the small intestine; the first section is called the duodenum and it does the majority of digestion and some absorption. It controls the emptying of chyme into duodenum.
The duodenum is the juncture between the stomach and the small intestine.
The ring of muscle at the entrance to the stomach is the lower esophageal sphincter. This muscle is normally contracted to close the esophagus. At the lower end of the stomach food passes through the pyloric sphincter and into the duodenum of the small intestine.
The jejunum.
The valve between the small and large intestines is the ileocecal valve. The ileocecal valve is a sphincter muscle and its function is to allow the passage of digested food from the small intestine into the large intestine, as well as preventing the reflux of the contents of the large intestine back into the ileum (the last part of the small intestine).
The ampulla of vater (hapetopancreatic ampulla) is joinigbetween the bile duct and the main pancreatic duct .It is located in the abdomen between the pancreas and the second part of the duodenum , which is the first part of the small intestine.
The duodenum is the valve between the stomach and the small intestine.
