I had the same problem with my father's computer that downgraded to XP with. Your problem is due to the fact that your WAN and LAN drivers were designed for Vista and not XP, as with me. So I'm pretty sure you can go to best buy and ask for a WAN adapter and that might work. That's what I'm gonna do. Hope I could help
