it could be the end of your period. or if you dont have yours yet, your first cycle. it is the combination of the normal discharge and blood. but if you are worried, go to your doctor.

This is probably just your period starting late. Often at the start and end of the period the blood is brown in colour.

It is just "old blood" from the last period. Very common. Or if you haven't started yet, it's probably your first period :)

A common cause of a brown or tinted discharge is light bleeding. Blood that is not fresh will darken and appear brown. It is most noticable during the beginning or end of your period. (This should be discussed with your Dr if you are pregnant.)

Vaginal discharge is not usually brown. This could be from an infection in which dried blood from your period is coming out... I would get it checked out by a doctor since it is not supposed to be brown!!

You can tell when you're starting your period because you start to see vaginal bleeding - spotting which is brown or pink discharge, or a full bleed. Not all vaginal bleeding is menstruation but it's typically safe to assume this is the cause of vaginal bleeding.
