Might be the throttle Position Sensor or switch - causes it to idle erratically - jumps up and down in rpms. Got one the other day for a different type of car - was about 50.00. Not sure what engine you have - so don't know how to tell you to locate it. Might have your mechanic check that out - see what he says.
Could be a plugged fuel filter, time for a good tune up.
Mine does that...It is a vacuum leak in the emissions system...mine also idles erratically because the thermostatic switch for the ac compressor turns on and off becus of the leak.
I was told that this might be the EGR Valve either is clogged or going bad.
It could be a dirty air filter or a dirty throttle body.
Is this a drive-by wire car? If so, and if someone has physically opened the throttle body while the ignition was turned on, the computer will be confused. Your Nissan dealer service department can plug a computer into your car and clear this up for you without replacing any parts. Or check each cylinders coil wires are good if one is bad it will cause it to idel rough.
Very vague information. Could be the main jet in the carburator.
Listen and look for a vacuum leak. Could be anywhere.
Timing belt could be bad and could have jumped a tooth or you need a toon up.
Could be clogged converter in the exhaust system..
