A Volkswagen Jetta radiator fan is controlled by a fan relay. If the relay malfunctions the fan could either stay on or not work at all. An engine diagnostic would be recommended.
It could be the keyswitch or the starter solenoid.
There are many things that could be causing a loss of power. Some of the main things would be damaged wiring, drained battery, bad starter, bad alternator and bad solenoid.

I just had a similar problem on my 2003 jetta. They replaced the bulbs and it turns out to be a faulty break light switch as well. Make sure to get it checked ASAP otherwise your shifter could get stuck in park.
Could be your timing belt.

look to see if your intake manifold is gummed up with residue

Could be tires out of balance. Or a bad tire.
Wheel hubs or bearings or could be the CV shafts.
Could be a few things, I would check universal joints first. Also check driveshaft for damage.

Yes, they get better mileage, more torque, and are cleaner burning. You can tow twice that with a diesel pickup than you could with a gas pickup. Diesel cars get amazing mileage. 55mpg for a volkswagen Jetta TDI.
If a Volkswagen Jetta loses power while driving uphill, one possible explanation is that the mass airflow sensor has gone bad. Another possibility is that the intake manifold could be clogged. The only way to know for sure what's wrong is to take the car to a mechanic.
