why is my 2006 Nissan altima gear shift stuck in park
could be your thermostat is stuck or perhaps and needs to be replaced.
If the vehicle is stuck in a gear then the shift censor is out. The other reason could be that the linkage on the transmission is broken.
Check brake light switch - could be defective or not aligned properly
tap it with a hammer eh....
The reason why the door ajar light stays on in a 1999 Nissan Altima could be due to the door switch being stuck. It is stated to spray WD-40 into the latch and that should fix the problem.
There could be a couple of reasons why a Nissan vehicle could be stuck in park. The shifter could be stuck or broken. The transmission may also be out or in need of fluid.
Trouble code p1126 means: Thermostat Malfunction (Stuck Open)
You first need to make sure that you have to foot on the brake. Many cars will not go out of park if your foot is not on the brake.
ACM33201 is a relay for the air conditioner on my 05 Nissan altima. My a/c was stuck on whenever the fan was selected on & a/c & defrost off. I changed this relay & solved my problem. The alternate P# is CM1A-12V. The relay is located in the junction box beside the coolant reserivor just aft of the fuses. A $4 fix. Hope this helps anyone having this problem.
could you be more specific?
This was my solution to my 2006 Nissan Altima being stuck in park.... On the gear panel above the "P". Pop the cap off to reveal a cylinod. If you press down on the cylinoid, it will release the gear out of park. What can cause this is liquid being spilled or sprayed accidentally into that area and causing the cylinoid to stick. It will need to be cleaned or replaced, but at least you can get it to drive to wherever you need to go instead of it having to be towed.
If you fold down the back seats and look through the opening with a flashlight you can see a T-handle attached to the back of the trunk to the right of the center. That has to be pulled in order to open a stuck trunk. There is no key hole on a 2005 Altima.
You try pushing on the brakes while trying to put it in drive?
no it cant as, as long as the light isn't on
The thermostat may be stuck open
Thermostat stuck open. Replace! A low coolant level will also cause this problem. The blend door could be stuck also.
On the fuel door side of the Trunk free the plastic fastners attaching the inner trunk lining. This should allow you to see a small metal lever attached to the electronic solenoid. Pulling this to the rear will free the stuck door.
Any relay could be the cause.
Probably a bad bearing in the wiper motor.
Try to have your Neutral Safety switch checked out or your brake switch, It controls the shifter so you cant put it in gear without pressing the brake
Even though you have already replaced the thermostat, there are other issues that can cause your Nissan Maxima to overheat. Your fan may be stuck and not operating as it should.
why is my 2006 Altima blowing cold air when not in motion , example stop light or as soon as it is idling even when it has ran for a long time and the engine is warm. The controls for the "doors"(vent covers that direct the air)are run by vacuum. There cold be a vacuum leak of one of the doors is stuck.
This is caused by one of two reasons. Either the battery has a dead cell and needs replacing or there is a parasitic drain on the battery. The drain can be any light that is constantly on or a relay that is stuck.
