Any coolant leak can cause an overheat.Any coolant leak can cause an overheat.
Possibly a clogged or restricted radiator Low coolant Cooling fan not working Thermostat not opening fully
you have to find where the leak is first.
The most common cause is low coolant.
Low coolant? Cooling system airbound? Low coolant? Cooling system airbound?
There is always water in the coolant. Anti-Freeze is typically mixed at a 50-50 rate with water to create a coolant solution.
Cause its broke!
I have a 1992 Dodge Spirit and it doesnt have an Egr Valve, but that's for the basic spirit, if you have an es, or anything, it will be located on the Intake Manifold. Its not hard to spot cause they usually say EGR across the top of it.
Low coolant or an inoperative radiator fan.Low coolant or an inoperative radiator fan.
Rdrah states Green....Sorry, Rdrsh, but you got it wrong. Most 2000 Dodge Grand Caravans will have a collar around the cap, which states it's a special coolant. The coolant that they are referring to is a Red HOAT-type coolant. Do NOT put regular green coolant in the vehicle with this warning collar, 'cause you can damage the engine.
check your coolant see if its low
Over torqued, under torqued, age, abuse.
Most likely cause is low coolant. Check your antifreeze level.
Low oil causing the coolant to heat up to the point in which it's doing more harm than good so it's pushed into the overflow
A bad noise suppression condenser. Usually attached to the alternator.
It is usually caused by either a bad tire, or loose steering components.
on the thermostat housing on top there is a metric Allen screw.take off the radiator cap and then unscrew the Allen screw until coolant begins to come out of the hole .top off and your good to go Im not going to erase that guys answer cause that is true, but im some cases those things wont budge at all, so if that is the case with your Dodge Spirit just keep the fluids full and in a day or two the coolant system will aventually bleed itself... that's what I always do insted of messing with that screw and it works everytime.
The antenna wouldn't cause it to short out, that just helps it receive the signals to play music on the radio... How old is the radio... if it is factory from 91 then it might of been its time to go... i have a radio from a 90 Dodge Caravan, same as whats in your Dodge Spirit cause they carry the same radio and it short out on its own where the numbers and stuff wont light up but will still play music... I took the radio out of my 92 Dodge Spirit and put it in the van (since the trans went out in the 92 Spirit) and it works great... it might of just went out because it was ready to go.
Crank angle sensor or coolant temprature sensor are the two favourites that will cause a non start
If it is leaking trans fluid into the coolant it can cause overheating.
Yes it can. A faulty thermostat can cause overheating which will cause coolant to be pushed out of the system.
